Ramzi Bashour

Ramzi Bashour is a Syrian-American filmmaker based in New York. He grew up in Beirut, Lebanon and over the years has worked as a cook, baker, journalist, musician and film editor. He studied creative writing and music at Indiana University, and received his MFA from NYU Graduate Film. His short film, THE TREES (2021), won the International Special Jury Prize at Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival and Main Jury Prize at Prague Shorts. Ramzi was featured in Filmmaker Magazine’s "25 New Faces in Independent Film" and was a Sundance Fellow in 2022, 2023 and 2024. HOT WATER is his debut feature film as writer-director.
